AUTHOR

GARY WAYNE DAVIS

His first critical success came in 1971 with the publishing of his first collection of free verse and poems, BETWEEN COURT AND KING. [White Star/Red Leaf Press - Montreal, PQ. Canada] The work is quite a reflection on both the man and the mood of the times. His role of counter-culture and anti-war leader is highly reflected in many of the pieces. Other pages however ring of tenderness and times gone by. The entire volume is an abstractly woven tapestry of the age-old battle of good versus evil. Several of the poems would later become successful songs for Davis after his move to Nashville, Tennessee in 1977. His follow up book, BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN was released in 1972.
